in situ: creates performances outside the boundaries
of conventional theatre. We do this by performing in non-theatre
spaces - houses, churches, museums, woods - and also by employing
the tools of theatre-making, especially voice, text and story,
in new and surprising ways.
in situ: is professionally-run, but works with a large number
of non-professional collaborators from all walks of life,
who join the group as a result of attending our workshops
and residencies.

in situ: and The Leper Chapel
in situ:'s relationship with The Leper Chapel began in 2004
with a performance of Mirabilis, a piece about the life and
death of Christina Mirabilis, a 12th Century saint. Since
then it has become one of our favourite performance sites.
In 2005 we performed Chaucer's Canterbury Tales , which
we repeated due to popular demand in 2006, and this Summer
sees our most ambitious project to date, a performance of
Sophocles' famous tragedy Oedipus Rex.. |
