| From May – November
2006, Kay Goodridge worked as artist in residence at the Leper Chapel.
During this time, she spent time in the Chapel, “soaking up”
the atmosphere, taking photos, making films and learning about its
long history.
She also interviewed people from the local community about their
experiences of the Chapel. She was particularly moved by the Mass
of Separation – a mass performed by the priest that ritualised
the separation of lepers from the rest of society.
In November she brought together the various strands of her ideas
in a final installation of sound, film and photography.
This residency was supported by the National Lottery
Awards For All Scheme.
